FDP

Developed by Dinah Mourise · Version 1.0

Can the evidentiary structure of a case support the conclusion placed upon it?

FDP (Forensic Diagnostic Protocol) is a proposed framework for examining the structure of an assembled evidentiary record before adjudication. It considers the record as a whole, identifying what is established by verifiable evidence and what remains dependent on explanation.

Its central distinction is between evidentiary capacity and narrative load. The protocol documents unresolved intervals, numerical inconsistencies, changes in description, and gaps completed by narrative.

Evidentiary capacity

What the record establishes through independently verifiable data, physical evidence, system output, or confirmed fact.

Narrative load

What the asserted conclusion depends on explanation to supply: missing continuity, inconsistent figures, varying descriptions, and unsupported sequence.

Stable

Within the protocol, the record has structural capacity to support the conclusion asserted.

Critical Threshold

Unresolved conditions carry material weight and require review before further reliance.

Forensically Insolvent

The classification identifies a record requiring correction or reconstruction before reliance.

Research status. Developed and demonstrated; independent validation and controlled testing remain pending. The FDP evaluates evidentiary structure. Its classifications do not determine guilt, innocence, admissibility, or the probability that a conclusion is true.
